Tile Connect Pro
How to Play Tile Connect Pro
Tile Connect Pro is a polished, fast-paced “Onet” style connection puzzle game. Your objective is to clear the entire board by matching pairs of identical emoji tiles. The challenge lies in finding paths between these tiles that don’t bend more than twice.
The Objective
Clear all 48 pairs (96 tiles total) from the $12 \times 8$ grid before the 3-minute timer runs out. Each successful match awards points and clears space on the board, making it easier to find further connections.
Official Rules
The game follows strict connection logic to ensure every move is strategic:
- Matching Pairs: You can only clear tiles that contain the exact same emoji (e.g., matching 馃崕 with 馃崕).
- The “Two-Turn” Rule: A connection is only valid if the path between two identical tiles consists of three or fewer straight lines. In other words, the path can have a maximum of two 90-degree turns.
- Clear Paths: The path must travel through empty spaces on the grid or stay along the outer boundary of the board. It cannot pass through other active tiles.
- Selection: Click one tile to select it (it will glow), then click its match. If the path is valid, a purple line will briefly connect them before they vanish.
Understanding the Scoring System
- Match Points: Every cleared pair adds 100 points to your score.
- Time Bonus: If you clear the entire board, you receive a bonus of 10 points for every second remaining on the clock.
- Hint Penalty: Using a hint is helpful but comes at a cost of -10 points from your current score.
- Game Over: The game ends if the timer reaches 0:00.
Top Strategies to Win
Clear the Perimeter First
Start by matching tiles along the edges of the grid. Because the path can travel outside the $12 \times 8$ boundary, the outer tiles are often the easiest to connect. Clearing these opens up “entry points” into the center of the board.
Work in Clusters
Try to clear groups of tiles that are adjacent to one another. This creates large empty “pockets” in the middle of the grid, providing the space needed for long-distance, two-turn connections.
Watch the “Left” Counter
The header displays how many pairs are remaining. If you feel stuck, use the Shuffle button. While the game will Auto-Shuffle if no moves are left, manually shuffling can sometimes give you a better layout for high-speed matching.
Advanced Features
馃毃 Danger Zone: When the timer drops below 30 seconds, the clock will pulse red to signal that you need to move faster!
馃挕 Hint: If you can’t find a move, the Hint button will make a valid pair flash orange.
馃攢 Shuffle: Use this to rearrange all remaining tiles on the board without losing your progress.
