Candy Match Blast
How to Play Candy Match Blast
Candy Match Blast is a vibrant, fast-paced match-3 puzzle game. Your goal is to swap colorful candies on a grid to create matching lines and clear them from the board. As you clear candies, new ones drop from the top, allowing for satisfying chain reactions and high-score combos.
Official Rules
The game is played on an 8×8 grid filled with six unique types of candies, ranging from red circles to orange hearts.
- Swapping: You can swap any two adjacent candies (up, down, left, or right) to create a match.
- Matching: A valid match consists of 3 or more candies of the same color/shape in a straight horizontal or vertical line.
- The Cascade: When a match is made, those candies “pop” and disappear. New candies immediately drop from the top to fill the empty spaces.
- Invalid Moves: If you attempt to swap two candies that do not result in a match, they will simply slide back to their original positions.
- Game Over: The game ends when there are no possible swaps left on the board that can result in a match.
Understanding the Scoring System
Your score is tracked in real-time at the top of the screen.
- Base Points: You earn 60 points for every single candy cleared from the board.
- The Combo Multiplier: This is the key to massive scores. If a single move causes a “cascade” (where new falling candies form a match automatically), your Combo Multiplier increases (x2, x3, etc.).
- Scoring Formula: Your points for a match are calculated as:$$\text{Total Points} = (\text{Candies Cleared} \times 60) \times \text{Combo Multiplier}$$
- Best Score: The game automatically saves your highest score locally, so you can always try to outdo your previous performance.
Top Strategies to Win
Prioritize Bottom Matches
Whenever possible, look for matches at the bottom of the grid. Clearing candies near the base causes more tiles above to shift, which significantly increases the statistical chance of a random “cascade” match and a higher combo multiplier.
Set Up “L” and “T” Shapes
While the goal is 3 in a row, the game logic rewards clearing large clusters. Try to visualize moves that will bring four or five candies together. Larger matches clear more of the board and help reset difficult sections.
Look for “Great” and “Awesome” Combos
The game provides visual feedback like “GREAT!” or “AMAZING!” when your combo chain reaches higher levels. Pay attention to which areas of the board are most “active”—keeping the center of the board clear usually provides the most flexibility for making new matches.
Don’t Rush
Since there is no timer, take a moment to look at the whole board before swapping. One “okay” move might destroy the setup for a “legendary” x7 combo.
